\u00a1Por segundo a\u00f1o consecutivo, un equipo de m\u00e1s de 20 miembros del personal, amigos y familiares de Clackamas correr\u00e1 gritando hacia el r\u00edo Columbia a fines de febrero como parte de Polar Plunge para las Olimpiadas Especiales de Oreg\u00f3n! Nuestro CEO, Aaron Goff, se unir\u00e1 a nosotros DESPU\u00c9S de participar en Super Plunge: \u00a1es una zambullida cada hora durante 24 horas!<\/p>\n

S\u00ed, hace mucho fr\u00edo. No, no podemos usar un traje de neopreno... \u00bfEntonces por qu\u00e9 lo hacemos?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00bb no es solo deporte<\/strong><\/p>\n

Las Olimpiadas Especiales no son solo agradables, no solo una organizaci\u00f3n ben\u00e9fica y no solo deportes. Las Olimpiadas Especiales impactan las vidas de sus atletas de maneras que afectan sus vidas y nuestra sociedad mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de un simple evento deportivo ocasional para sentirse bien.<\/p>\n

\"SpecialOlimpiadas Especiales da visibilidad a ni\u00f1os y adultos con discapacidad intelectual y promueve su inclusi\u00f3n en la sociedad. Brinda oportunidades para que sean reconocidos y aclamados, desarrollen una mejor salud f\u00edsica, demuestren coraje, experimenten alegr\u00eda y compartan sus dones, habilidades y amistad con la comunidad.<\/p>\n

En 1997, el programa Atletas Saludables de Olimpiadas Especiales comenz\u00f3 a ofrecer ex\u00e1menes de salud gratuitos y educaci\u00f3n a los atletas de Olimpiadas Especiales en un ambiente acogedor y divertido. Desde entonces, Olimpiadas Especiales ha realizado m\u00e1s de 2 millones de ex\u00e1menes de salud gratuitos y capacitado a m\u00e1s de 260 000 profesionales de la salud y estudiantes para tratar a personas con discapacidades intelectuales.<\/p>\n

\u00bb es local <\/strong><\/p>\n

El evento Polar Plunge en Portland proporciona fondos para programas locales del \u00e1rea metropolitana de Portland, programas que enriquecen las vidas de miles de habitantes de Oreg\u00f3n en el condado de Clackamas y sus alrededores.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Aunque hace fr\u00edo y un poco\u2026 digamos \u201cvigorizante\u201d, nuestro equipo se lo pasa muy bien en el Plunge. Olimpiadas Especiales organiza un gran evento con comida y m\u00fasica, puestos de vendedores y cientos de espectadores.
