Clackamas’ Support for Federal Employees

As of December 22, 2018, our Federal Government has been partially shut down. According to the New York Times, “While some essential work, such as mail delivery and law enforcement, is still being performed, the shutdown has affected operations at nine departments, including Homeland Security, Justice, State and Treasury, and several agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency and NASA.”

Clackamas is aware this shutdown may affect our members and we want to work with them to overcome the negative affect of the shutdown. Clackamas has developed a few ways to aid these members through this difficult period. For existing members to qualify, we will ask for verification of employment with an affected Federal Agency.  There may be additional requirements depending on the assistance being requested.

Some furloughed federal employees may be eligible for unemployment coverage, and may wish to check with the State of Oregon Unemployment Department.
