‘Tis the Season to Remain Vigilant

At Embold, it is our duty to be careful stewards of our members’ money and to help you bank boldly and safely. This means that your security is our top priority.

The holidays tend to bring an increase in account fraud and purchase scams. Recently, there has been an increase in fraudulent activity circulating throughout the community, so as you shop this holiday season, be extra vigilant to avoid being taken advantage of during this time.

Fraudsters may be impersonating Embold, via text or phone, in an attempt to obtain personal account information that can then be used to make fraudulent purchases.

Embold will never solicit your personal information via email, text, or phone call.

Please help us protect your accounts by keeping these tips in mind:

  • You may receive an automated phone call from 866.894.0697 to verify any potentially fraudulent activity. If you receive this call, you will only be asked to verify the last four digits of your SSN and ZIP code along with your three most recent transactions.
  • We will never ask for your PIN number to your card or Digital Banking login information.
  • Be careful about clicking on fake ads, and make sure you are going to reputable and safe websites.
  • Be aware of text messages asking about packages being delivered, and use dedicated postal delivery service websites to track your packages.

If you receive an unsolicited call, email, or text that seems suspicious or from someone impersonating the credit union, hang up or ignore them and contact us immediately at 503.656.0671.

If you have any questions about these scams, or if you’ve received one of these phone calls, we’re here to help. Give our friendly team a call at 503.656.0671, send us an email to memberservice@emboldcu.org, or stop by your local branch.
